The deadline for applications for this year’s 12th Stelios Award for bicommunal business co-operation in Cyprus is March 31, it was announced on Monday.

The Stelios awards were established by easyJet founder and philanthropist Sir Stelios Hadji-Ioannou to promote island-wide business cooperation between Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot entrepreneurs by giving promising ventures the funding boost they need to grow.

The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation said in an announcement that ten awards of €20,000 each will be awarded next month.

Applications, which this year focus exclusively on the business activity of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, can be submitted until March 31, it said.

Those interested should visit: https://steliosfoundation.com.cy/ and download the application form, which after being completed should be sent via email to Marios Misirlis marios.missirlis @ stelios.com.

Each group should consist of at least one Greek Cypriot and one Turkish Cypriot businessman, who will be able to prove with evidence that their joint business activity brings financial benefits to the whole island, while the company should have an annual turnover of at least €5,000 and employ another person, in addition to the owner.

The award ceremony will take place online on Thursday, April 28, 2022, with Sir Stelios congratulating the winners, via Zoom.
