Man died following car accident in Larnaca

A 62-year-old man, who was intubated at the ICU of the Nicosia general hospital following a car accident in Larnaca, has died, police said on Wednesday.

Larnaca resident Marcos Triggilos was driving on the Troullon – Kelia road, in the direction of Kelia around 3.15pm on Tuesday, when, under conditions being investigated, he collided head-on with a car driven by a 37-year-old man, in the direction of Troullos.

According to the police statement, Triggilos was trapped inside his vehicle and the fire service was called to the scene to free him.

He was initially transported to Larnaca general hospital, where he was intubated and then taken to the general hospital of Nicosia, where he was treated at the ICU in critical condition.

Athienou police department continues investigating the exact circumstances of the collision.
