The total number of coronavirus infections recorded by the health ministry was on Friday reduced by 162 cases as part of the scientific experts’ review of the epidemiological data.

The review showed the total number of cases up to March 28 was 416,352 and not the 416,514 initially recorded.

Therefore, the ministry said, Friday’s new cases will be added to the total number of 430,564.

Coronavirus cases were revised as part of the preparation of the biweekly national report which records and verifies all the epidemiological data reported in previous months to the epidemiological surveillance unit.

The announcement explained the practice of updating the databases is implemented by all EU member states at regular intervals, both for transparency purposes and to ensure the correct and comprehensive recording of epidemiological surveillance data.
