At an event held in Nicosia on Tuesday, April 12, Emirates presented emerging trends and innovations in the aviation industry, exploring the future of travel.

As part of the presentation, Khalid Al Zarooni, Emirates Country Manager for Greece and Albania, who oversees the airline’s operations in Cyprus, addressed an audience of over 40 journalists, editors and directors from some of the leading Cypriot media.

“Since Emirates’ first flight from Dubai to Larnaca in November 1994, it has remained a vital part of the airline’s global network and, with four weekly flights, we continue to see excellent and favourable yields and demand that further strengthens our commitment to the market,” noted Al Zarooni in his speech.

“We are investing heavily in our products and services to ensure customers get the best experience and value for money – both in the air and on the ground,” he continued. “Our newest cabin category, the Premium Economy Cabin, launched services to extremely positive feedback, especially for its spacious seating and legroom, among other unique features that set it apart from any other Premium Economy cabin.

“During the 2021 Dubai Airshow, we announced a major modernisation programme to equip 120 aircraft with Premium Economy seats and the latest cabin interiors, to ensure the Emirates experience remains the best.”

Following his address, Al Zarooni responded to media questions regarding Emirates’ activities in the market, as well as about the latest developments concerning the airline.

Now, with Premium Economy, Emirates travellers enjoy delicious local meals from the Economy Class menu, at generously-proportioned tables. Premium Economy passengers also fly in a comfortable, spacious cabin at the front of the aircraft. With fewer seats, they can further relax in their own world, while benefitting from a more personalised service. They can also select their favourite programmes from over 5,000 channels of films, TV shows and music, via the Emirates’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system: ice.

Meanwhile, as demand for international travel continues to grow, Emirates’ extensive network spanning more than 120 destinations across six continents continues to expand.

The airline is committed to safe travel, having implemented a comprehensive range of measures on the ground at all points of contact, as well as on board its aircraft, to provide passengers with the highest standards of safety and hygiene throughout their trip. Customers travelling from Dubai can also take advantage of the latest in contactless technology to smooth their journey at the airport.
