Man attempts to sneak cannabis under guise of frappé delivery

A 30-year-old man on Sunday afternoon visited the Limassol police detention centre and handed over two cups of frappé to a detainee.

During the subsequent inspection, two packages wrapped with adhesive tape containing 5.5 grams of cannabis were found inside the cups.

The 30-year-old was arrested and in a physical search that followed, 12 straws were found in his possession containing 1.2 grams of a white crystalline substance.

Police questioned the man who was released without being charged pending the results of laboratory investigation.

The recipient, who was also interrogated, declared complete ignorance.

The case in under ongoing investigation.
