Police uncover gambling den

Police on Thursday said they have uncovered a gambling den in Larnaca where 24 people were playing poker.

The discovery was made as part of a police operation in the area from 9.30am to 11pm on Wednesday.

During the search at a specific establishment, 32 people were found, of whom 24 were playing poker.

Police said they questioned the people engaged in the illegal activity and released them.

They also confiscated 4,500 tokens, 256 playing cards, three computers and €1,730 in cash.
