Woman wanted after scamming pensioner out of €14,000

Paphos police HQ

A pensioner has lost thousands after a woman tricked her out of €14,000 to help with the sale of property, head of Paphos CID Michalis Nikolaou said on Monday.

The 72-year-old reported to police on May 27 after a woman tricked her into paying her the money so she would organise the sale of two apartments through the Lands Registry. However, she has reportedly done nothing.

Police have been looking for the woman since Saturday and an arrest warrant has been issued against her.
