Live music performances are filling up the events calendar of the summer and this week is no different.
Limassol’s Mason Bar has two mid-week music performances planned, welcoming first the Triple Soul band. Wednesday will be the band’s first performance in the Mason Bar’s garden and will include some special guests. George Kalopedis on vocals, Antonis Polikarpou on the keyboard and Dinos Paouros on drums will play soul, funk, Motown and jazz joined by guest bassist Evelthon Michaelides.
On Thursday another musical group will take over Mason’s patio yet they will bring a totally different mood. Limassol-based Pleasantly Blackmailed (Anna Gurina, Marios Gregoriou, Alex Michael and Sotiris Christodoulou) perform RnB and Trance music, creating a dance party. With electrified vibes, the band delivers a stylistic approach to dance hip hop with RnB funk grooves and electronic sounds.
Also on June 16, Evergreen Vegan & Vegetarian in Nicosia will host a live band at 9pm. Murphy’s Brother in Law is a lively blues band from the capital performing favourite blues, folk, classic rock and rock n roll, featuring George Constantinou, Jim Themis, Mike Zachariades and Spyros Kyriakides.
Larnaca too will have its dose of live music this Thursday as Paul’s Coffee Roasters welcomes the alternative rock band The Ladderman. Taking the floor at 9pm, the Larnaca band will perform its first acoustic show, its first acoustic set in its 11 years of existence. The band will present material from their first and second albums as well as some new songs that will appear on the third album coming out this autumn.
On Friday, Sarah’s Jazz Club will welcome the contemporary jazz band Natalia Rose Trio. Three musicians will perform music from their album Impresiones, which is inspired by photographs taken by Colombian photographer Camila Malaver that portray the daily life of the communities in Barranco de Loba, Bolivar, Colombia.
Wrapping up this week’s live music events is a Cuban fiesta at Kahuna Surfhouse on Sunday. The Havana Vitral band, with Marjorie Montero, Kris Grecian and Salvador Rodriguez, will put on a vibrant Cuban beach party playing music from around 6pm. This is the Surfhouse’s first Cuban event with a live band and will include food options, drinks and plenty of good vibes in a total summer mood.
