Cyprus expresses ‘deep sorrow’ for loss of life in Egyptian fire

Cyprus expressed “deep sorrow” for the loss of life from the devastating fire in the Coptic church in Giza earlier in the day and sent its condolences Egypt.

A post by the foreign ministry on Twitter expressed sadness at the news.

“Cyprus expresses its condolences and solidarity to its close partner, Egypt,” the tweet read.

At the same time, the ministry wished those injured a speedy recovery.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families,” the tweet concludes.
