Coronavirus: Four deaths, 1,752 new cases

The health ministry said on Friday that four deaths from Covid-19 and 1,752 new cases of the virus were reported for the week of August 26 – September 1, 2022.

The four deaths concerned three men aged 78, 87 and 83 and a woman aged 82.

The total number of deaths with Covid-19 cited as the ultimate cause stands at 1,172.

Forty-two Covid-19 patients are being treated in state hospitals with 10 being in serious condition.

A total of 68,678 diagnostic tests (PCR and rapid) were performed with 1,752 new cases detected. The positivity rate is 2.55 per cent.
