Limassol police investigating violence against school students

Limassol police HQ

Two cases of violence against students are being investigated by police, following numerous complaints, they said.

According to police, three underage schoolgirls and a schoolboy on Thursday complained to the minor offences department that they were insulted and assaulted by a 41-year-old mother and two of their classmates while at a bus stop.

Police are taking statements and examining a video that circulated on social media, with reports suggesting a rivalry between the parties involved following a specific incident at the school.

In another incident, police said they also received a report on Thursday that a student was assaulted by a music teacher who allegedly grabbed him by the neck and pushed him against the wall when some students were making noise and banging on the classroom door.

The case is being investigated by the Episkopi police station.
