Pumpkin festival livens up October

There is lots to celebrate in October: two public holidays, Halloween, seasons changing and clocks going back. But as autumn begins only one vegetable takes the spotlight – pumpkins! One local establishment takes the opportunity to organise an almost month-long Pumpkin Festival!

Every year, with the arrival of October, CyHerbia Botanical Park and Labyrinth gets all creative and spooky. Sunflowers, great, big orange leaves, witches and pumpkins decorate its gardens and workshops as a series of autumn-themed activities begin. This year will be no different as from October 8 to 31 CyHerbia hosts its Pumpkin Festival.

Throughout the duration of the festival, pumpkin carving workshops will take place welcoming children and adults. In a beautifully decorated space, participants will get to carve scary-looking pumpkins and get ready for Halloween. Workshops will run at 10am, 12am, 2pm and 4pm and each last about two hours.

Activities for all the family will also take place in the Maze, herb gardens and Woodland of the park, a spooky soap workshop for kids in the Apothecary, and face-painting. Photo corners and fresh pumpkin delights in the cosy Botanicus Bistro will also add to the atmosphere. On Halloween weekend, October 29 and 30, there will be many extra activities available as well as the yearly costume competition for those who come dressed for the occasion!
