Paphos police are on the hunt for two young suspects who fled the scene of a crash after a car chase, with officers finding 18 army issue bullets on the ground.

Michalis Nikolaou, Paphos police chief and spokesman, said on Friday that the incident occurred soon after his department received a report of youths driving a car.

A police patrol unit spotted the car travelling along the Tasos Papadopoulou avenue but car in question sped off when signaled to stop.

The patrol unit followed but the youths crashed their car twice soon after, with the second crash immobilising their vehicle.

The two youths abandoned the car and fled on foot, with officers then uncovering 18 army issue bullets at the scene.

Nikolaou said that evidence and samples will be analysed from the scene and reiterated they are on the hunt for the two youths.
