Man arrested at Paphos airport for travel document fraud

A 21-year-old man was arrested at Paphos airport for trying to leave Cyprus with a fake ID, police said on Friday.

According to police in Paphos, the man was caught at passport control on Thursday with a fake Bulgarian passport and ID, while trying to board a flight to Rome.

During passport control it was found that the above documents were forged as both failed the security check in the travel document identification and control device.

The 21-year-old was taken into custody and his details were determined. Police said that on September 30 he applied for asylum, which has gone unanswered to this day.
