Police in Paphos arrested two men, aged 24 and 25, after they were caught stealing items from a flat in Yeroskipou.

Paphos police spokesman Michalis Nicolaou said the 57-year-old owner of the flat reported the theft on Thursday at around 4.30pm when he saw the two men in his yard with a kettle and a coat hanger.

When he questioned them as to why they were holding his possessions, they replied that they lived in the complex and the items belonged to them.

Police arrived on the scene shortly after and questioned the two man. They also found out that the front door of the 57-year-old’s flat was damaged, indicating the two people broke into it.

The two were arrested for burglary and theft and taken into custody.
