A minute with Giorgos Kyriacou Actor, stand-up comedian, creator

minute

Where do you live?
In the heat of it. Next to Limassol agora. With a very good friend of mine.

What did you have for breakfast?
Kelloggs Coco pops. We used to call them Του αρκουδου (Tou Arkoudouo, The bear’s). But now the monkey has it all.

Describe your perfect day
Exercise at the beach, good food, nice company, a couple of stand up bits running through my head and then room for flirt and intimacy.

Best book ever read?
Hitchhiker’s guide to the Galaxy. Because 42.

Best childhood memory?
My dog catching me by surprise and licking me in my ear. And me laughing out freely loudly happily.

What is always in your fridge?
Half a sliced lemon and small ketchup packs.

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
Blues, rock, and some gangsta rap.

What’s your spirit animal?
An otter with a baby on its belly chilaxing in a pond.

What are you most proud of?
My people. Each delicate and intricate relationship I have with every single one of them. The stuff of dreams, plus conscious work. My kind of heaven.

What movie scene has really stayed with you?
I would go for Mr Blonde’s torture scene from Reservoir Dogs. Played by the amazing Michael Madsen. Especially when he speaks to the cut off ear.

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
George Carlin

If you could time travel when/where would you go?
To see my favourite stand up specials live…

What is your greatest fear?
Dishonesty

What would you say to your 18-year-old self?
Don’t go to the army.

Name the one thing that would stop you dating someone
Lies

If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
Spend it with my loved ones doing whatever.
