Petrolina racing team triumphs in Cyprus and Greece

The Petrolina Racing Team emerged triumphant at the premiere of both the Cyprus Rally Championship, organised by the Cyprus Automobile Association, and the Panhellenic Rally Championship. Petrolina Racing Team’s crews finished first in the Finikoudes Rally, as well as the 40th Kentavros Rally, which took place over the weekend of May 13-14 in Larnaca and Volos respectively.

For yet another time, Petrolina Racing Team put in an excellent performance at the Finikoudes Rally. Simos Galatariotis, with Antonis Ioannou as his co-driver, were the big winners of the race, driving a VW Polo GTI R5.

Petrolina Racing Team’s second crew, comprising Panayiotis Yiangou and Aristos Nicolaou, also turned in an excellent performance finishing third in the race, while driving a Hyundai i20 R5. This year’s Finikoudes Rally, which was organised by the Cyprus Automobile Association in the city of Zenon, featured eight special stages covering a total distance of 96 km and saw the participation of 22 crews.

Petrolina Racing Team also had a dynamic presence at the 40th Kentavros Rally, which opened the Greek Rally Championship. Cypriot driver Alexandros Tsouloftas and his co-driver, Stelios Elia, were the winners of the race, driving a VW Polo GTi R5.

The race was held in Pelion and featured four repeated special stages, covering a total competitive distance of 90km. A total of 43 crews participated in the race.

Motorsport has always been a key item of Petrolina’s corporate social responsibility programme. Petrolina would like to congratulate the winners and all the participants of the rallies.
