Paphos police on Wednesday arrested a 41-year-old woman for violations of personal data protection laws.

According to the police spokesman and head of CID Michalis Nikolaou, the 41-year-old from Geroskipou was reported for exposure of personal details of various persons through posts on social media.

The woman was initially referred for psychiatric evaluation, Nikolaou said, during which it was determined that she did not require any intervention or hospitalisation.

The woman was subsequently charged in writing and released to be summoned at a later date.
