A total of 80 scientists from 23 different countries are set to descend on Paphos this weekend for the 2023 International Conference of Odonatology (IOC) – the study of dragonflies.
The conference will see various presentations take place regarding subjects such as the development and genetics of dragonflies, conservation efforts, and the impact of climate change on the global dragonfly population.
Cyprus was chosen as the location for the conference due to its location “at the crossroads of three continents”, with the exact location of the conference the Neapolis University.
ICO2023 is organised by the Cyprus Dragonfly Study Group and Terra Cypria, the Cyprus Foundation for Environmental Protection, in collaboration with the World Dragonfly Association.
