Police on Saturday said that they are continuing their intensive investigations to locate the perpetrator of the bomb attack against the Omonia fans’ clubhouse in Agios Ioannis, Limassol, earlier this week.

Police noted that the perpetrator’s movements were captured by the area’s surveillance cameras.

However, the perpetrator was wearing a hood, making identification difficult. Despite this, police said that investigators remain optimistic that they will manage to find him.

Moreover, according to the police announcement, investigators are analysing footage from other closed-circuit surveillance cameras in the area, while various pieces of evidence found and collected from the scene are also being examined.

In addition, depositions are also being taken, and several individuals have been summoned for questioning.

The motives behind the attack have not yet been clarified, as neither the police nor the venue administrators have expressed any suspicion towards anyone.

The bomb explosion occurred at 3:30 in the early hours of Friday and caused extensive damage to the club, the extent of which has not yet been calculated.
