Travelling production of The Little Prince arrives in Cyprus

wt1 9261

The classic French novella The Little Prince is coming to Cyprus this weekend as a touring global production makes a stop on the island. The Broadway Entertainment Group is taking part in the Nicosia International Festival with a three-day dance, music and aerial show of The Little Prince this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Little Prince is an innovative theatre spectacular live on stage. It comes to Nicosia after a sell-out season at Folies Bergère Paris, Dubai, Sydney Opera House and most recently on Broadway NYC. Lights, acrobatics and an impressive stage design will mesmerise audiences of all ages.

“What I like about The Little Prince,” says Dylan Barone in an interview who plays the title role, “is that people may think it is a children’s book but when you go deeply into the meaning of the story you realise that it is a universal message that applies to everybody from kids to adults.

“Anyone can enjoy this show,” he adds, “for its visuals, the risky aerial performances, or the deeper messages within the show. Thanks to our director and choreographer Anne Tournié and co-director and Narrator Chris Mouron, they have managed to mix aerial acrobatics and dance seamlessly to convey the message not just through words but using movement to express the story.”

Coming to Cyprus for the first time, the cast of the production is an international collection of dancers and artists, united by the power of movement. Together they bring to life the cosmic world of an aviator lost in the desert who meets the Little Prince who has flown from one planet to another in search of a sheep. An omnipresent narrator accompanies the Little Prince on his journey as he meets many magnificent characters who communicate harmoniously through dance, gesture, and movement.
