World Week of Italian Cuisine in Cyprus 2023

The World Week of Italian Cuisine, this year in its eighth edition, is an annual event that aims to promote Italian food and products in the global market. This year’s theme revolves around healthy and tasty eating.

In celebration of the World Week of Italian Cuisine in Cyprus, an Italian Cooking Masterclass was hosted on November 14, 2023, at Intercollege’s Culinary Arts Programme’s state-of-the-art facilities, specifically at the Culinary Amphitheatre Copernicus.  The Masterclass was organised by the Italian Trade Agency, the Embassy of Italy in Nicosia, Intercollege’s Culinary Arts Programme and the Training and Development Unit of the University of Nicosia.

The Masterclass was delivered by the Italian Chef Cristina Cecchini Saulini (Chef Cordon Bleu), who has extensive experience and many collaborations in Italy, and abroad, under her belt. During the Masterclass, the chef prepared for the audience three courses, giving them the opportunity to get a taste of authentic Italian food.

In the presence of the Italian Trade Commissioner Claudio Pasqualucci, representatives of the Italian embassy in Nicosia, and the Head of Marketing and Communications of Intercollege and the Training & Development Unit of the University of Nicosia Angelos Iacovides, the Masterclass was delivered with success, attended by chefs, cooks, students of Intercollege’s Culinary Arts Programme, media representatives and other special guests.

On November 15, 2023, the World Week of Italian Cuisine was also promoted at Alphamega Hypermarkets’ Engomi store, where an Italian Cooking Show was led by chef Cecchini Saulini in the presence of H.E. Federica Ferrari Bravo, Ambassador of Italy to Cyprus. Shoppers and visitors had the unique opportunity to watch the chef in action and try mouthwatering and creative recipes.

The Italian Cooking Show was organised by the Italian Trade Agency, the Embassy of Italy in Nicosia, and Alphamega Hypermarkets. The Cyprus programme will continue throughout the week with a special promotion at Italian restaurants, and via other events.
