It is the month of spectacular musical concerts, recitals and performances. All around the island, music venues are welcoming artists from Cyprus and abroad to share their music, enriching the cultural agenda. To conclude its 2023 season, the Pharos Arts Foundation hosts a recital in Nicosia in mid-December with an outstanding pianist from the European music scene. On December 14, the Shoe Factory on Ermou Street will welcome music lovers to enjoy Ivan Krpan’s piano sounds.

Krpan was the first prize winner of the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in 2017, a prestigious event for the music world. His piano skills and technical control of sound quickly established him as one of the most remarkable pianists of the younger generation. He has won several significant piano awards and has performed in major music venues from Vienna’s Konzerthaus and the Seoul Arts Center to Rome’s Santa Cecilia Hall.

This month, Krpan will make his debut in Cyprus, treating local audiences to an impressively virtuosic programme of works by Liszt, Chopin and Lisinski. His recital in Nicosia next week is organised in collaboration with the London-based Keyboard Charitable Trust and is expected to be a fully booked event.
