Paphos police crackdown on illegal employment

Police in Paphos raided a number of workplaces on Thursday, where it was suspected that people were being employed illegally.

Deputy chief of operations Michalis Nicolaou explained that members of the Aliens and Immigration service had conducted an operation at construction sites in the Paphos district.

He said two people were found to have been working illegally, and two employers found to have illegally employed them.

The labour ministry said it had issued four fines regarding the matter, adding up to a total of €9,000.
