Two arrests over attempted murder

Two men have been arrested for their role in an attempted murder close to Ayia Napa marina last month, after a vehicle was shot at, police said on Monday.

A 39-year-old is facing charges of attempted murder, while another, aged 40, has been charged for being an accomplice.

Both were arrested at 10:40pm on Sunday, with the 39-year-old detained for further questioning. The 40-year-old was charged in writing and will be called to court at a later date.

The attempted murder took place between November 21 and 22, however police received more information on the 27th.

The incident was close to the Ayia Napa marina, where a vehicle was shot at, that had two individuals aged 34 and 40 on board.

Investigations continue.
