Leading Cypriot shipping services firm Tototheo Maritime on Wednesday announced that it has been certified as a Great Place to Work in both Cyprus and Greece, for the period from October 2023 to October 2024.
According to the announcement, the company considers this recognition to hold significant value, as it positions the company as an employer of choice within two highly competitive markets, since the certification comes directly from employee feedback.
Meanwhile, in the official announcement issued by Great Place to Work, it was stated that Tototheo Maritime has successfully built a culture of innovation and collaboration.
The announcement highlighted that the Trust Index survey that was conducted among the employees, reflects a positive work environment in both Cyprus and Greece.
It continued by noting that this underscores the effective implementation of a well-structured people-centric strategy by the company’s leadership.
Tototheo Maritime co-CEO, Despina Panayiotou Theodosiou, said “our certification as a ‘Great Place to Work’ is a significant distinction for our company, recognising the ethos that defines us – as an organisation that prioritises its people”.
“This certification showcases the collaborative, respectful, and innovative spirit within our teams in Cyprus and in Greece. Encouraging daily expression of opinions and ideas allows our people to grow,” she added.
“However, this certification should not make us complacent. As a dynamic and progressive organisation, we must remain vigilant for ongoing assessment, improvement, and reinforcement of the high standards and transparency that guide us,” the Tototheo Maritime co-CEO concluded.
The Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) this week hailed the announcement made by US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin regarding the commencement of Operation Prosperity Guardian, aimed at addressing security challenges in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
This move follows a surge in attacks against commercial vessels in the region.
The initiation of the multinational security initiative, Prosperity Guardian, marks a significant stride towards ensuring the uninterrupted operation of global trade and safeguarding seafarers exposed to the assaults by the Houthis in the Southern Red Sea, stated the announcement.
“This coordinated effort underscores the collective commitment to safeguarding the lives of seafarers and securing maritime routes critical to global trade,” the statement emphasised.
Expressing gratitude for the preemptive measures taken by various nations to ensure marine protection and the smooth functioning of international maritime routes, the chamber reiterated its dedication to continue supporting initiatives concerning this critical matter.
