Two young women who crashed their vehicle into a Larnaca roundabout on Thursday morning have escaped with only slight injuries, after the vehicle also caught on fire.

According to the police, the incident happened around 4.15am at the Rizoelia roundabout in Aradippou, under circumstances that are being investigated. The car, which crashed into the roundabout railing, stopped and then caught fire.

The two young women managed to get out and were taken to Larnaca general hospital as a precaution, while their state of health was judged by the doctor on duty to be not serious.

The car has been moved from the area and traffic is proceeding normally.
