Commissioner of State Aid, Stella Michaelidou, approved the “RESTART 2016 – 2020 Programs for Research, Technological Development, and Innovation of the Research and Innovation Foundation.”

The total budget for this, until the end of 2026, is €240 million and has been deemed compatible with state aid regulations.

Michaelidou said that the measure was essentially a continuation of the measure with the same content and title as the existing one, with adjustments made due to the modified legal provisions.

The total budget for the measure is €240,155,000, and its application period extends from the publication of the decision in the government gazette until January 31, 2026. The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) is responsible for the implementation of the measure.

Research organisations, institutions of higher education, scientific and professional organisations, businesses, business associations, non-governmental organisations (NGO), public services, public utility organisations, as well as academics, scientists, researchers, technical personnel, and students are eligible to participate in the measure.
