Pensioner dies after traffic accident

An 83-year-old woman lost her life on Sunday in a traffic accident in Nicosia.

Christina Argyrou from Kaimakli was fatally injured while three others in the same accident got light injuries.

At 7.30 in the morning a car driven by a 40-year-old man along Salaminos Avenue in Nicosia crashed under unknown circumstances with one being driven by a 56-year-old woman.

The 83-year-old woman was in this car along with a 38-year-old woman.

From the crash all four people were injured and were taken to Nicosia general hospital.

At around 1.15 the pensioner died from her injuries. The other three were treated in A&E and sent home.
