The road leading to the Troodos peak reopened on Sunday afternoon after it had earlier been closed to traffic, police said.

The force said the move was made due to the heavy traffic trying to get up to the snow.

However, once it reopened they warned that the roads were slippy.

Earlier and expecting a lot of traffic heading to the snow, police announced precautionary measures would be taken in Troodos.

The measures aimed to ease movement in the area and ensure the safety of citizens.

Police called on the public to be patient and abide by police signals.
