HELLENiQ ENERGY, EKO Cyprus launch MA studies grant

HELLENiQ ENERGY, and its subsidiary, EKO Cyprus, have launched scholarships for postgraduate degrees, within the framework of the Group’s Corporate Responsibility “Proud of Youth” programme. Via the initiative, HELLENiQ ENERGY will support, for the 12th consecutive year, up to 30 outstanding seniors and university graduates, who wish to obtain a Master’s Degree.

For the first time this year, the programme is being extended to Cyprus, where Group subsidiary, EKO Cyprus, is active. Ten of the 30 scholarships will be awarded to Cypriot high achievers and university graduates who wish to continue their studies at Greek and other international universities.

The programme was officially launched in Cyprus at a press conference held on April 3, 2024, at the MAP Boutique Hotel in Nicosia, in the presence of executives and staff members of EKO Cyprus, members of the Board of Directors of Higher Education Institutions, representatives of the rectorate offices, media members and select guests.

“With its decision to extend the “Proud of Youth” scholarship programme to Cyprus, HELLENiQ ENERGY recognises the added value of further education in today’s competitive labour market, and rewards excellence,” said EKO Cyprus CEO George Gregoras in his address.

“All of us at EKO Cyprus, welcome the ‘Proud of Youth’ Programme in Cyprus and we are particularly pleased that, in cooperation with the HELLENiQ ENERGY Group, we will give the opportunity to young, excellent graduates and university graduates to acquire specialised, complementary and up-to-date knowledge, in specific areas related to the Group’s activities.

“Our aim is to make a substantial contribution, so that young people are better able to meet the requirements of their profession, but also so that they can put further skills towards applying for energy-sector positions with greater prospects.”

The “Proud of Youth” programme application process runs over April 3-May 12, 2024. The specialisation concerns areas relevant to the Group’s activity, such as: “Engineering and Energy”, “Digital Transformation”, “Environmental Sciences” and “Economics and Management”.

To date, HELLENiQ ENERGY has provided 292 scholarships for academic studies in English- or Greek-language programmes, offered at tertiary education institutions
