Police are investigating a case of bodily harm and malicious damage after a 25-year-old after he told officers on Sunday a 59-year-old man allegedly struck him in the face, causing him injuries and making him fall to the ground.
Paphos police spokesperson Michalis Nicolaou said the incident took place around 6pm near the Ayios Charalambos church in Emba.
He also said the suspect threw stones at the 25-year-old, forcing him to enter his vehicle and flee to safety.
The alleged attacker then proceeded to get into his own car and intentionally drive it into the one belonging to the victim, causing significant damage to it.
Police arrived at the scene but did not manage to locate the alleged perpetrator, who had fled. A warrant for his arrest has been issued and he is currently being sought.
After the assault, the victim visited the Paphos general hospital, where it was determined he had suffered injuries to his face and various other parts of his body.
