Fifteen-year-old Theodoros Christodoulou, a player from Apoel’s U16 team, will continue his football career in Spain for the upcoming season after receiving a sports scholarship from a football academy in Tarragona.

The scholarship will see Christodoulou join the Nàstic Football Academy, a well-regarded institution with strong ties to Spanish football and affiliated with Gimnàstic de Tarragona, a Spanish football club based in Catalonia.

The academy offers a comprehensive programme designed to develop young players both technically and tactically.

It provides state-of-the-art training facilities, professional coaching, and exposure to high-level competitions and has connections with professional clubs across Spain, offering a pathway for players aiming to make the leap into professional football.

The academy’s programme focuses not only on improving football skills but also on fostering discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship, providing a solid foundation for a career in football.

It also serves as a boarding school and a university.

Several foreign football academies operate in Cyprus, many of which are affiliated with well-known European clubs, such as Juventus, Liverpool and Barcelona.
