A 40-year-old has been handed a five-day remand order to facilitate investigations into a burglary earlier this week in Limassol, in which the perpetrators got away with €820,000-worth of property.

Limassol district court heard the man was arrested at Larnaca airport, outbound, and, when questioned, denied any involvement in the case.

The burglars broke into the apartment along the Limassol coast, managed to open the safe and stole jewellery, luxury watches and cash valued at €820,000.

However, they were caught on the building’s CCTV, the footage of which was evaluated by the police.

Police are continuing investigations and searching for the second person caught on the CCTV.
