A charming, intimate venue in downtown Nicosia is about to fill with music enthusiasts again as invited international artists get ready to perform at The Shoe Factory on January 22. This will be the first concert the Pharos Arts Foundation presents in 2025. To launch the New Year’s agenda, the Quatuor Danel string quartet will perform a fascinating programme of classical music.

Having been at the forefront of the international classical music scene for decades, with their bold, expressive and technically impeccable performances, Quatuor Danel has appeared on all major concert stages worldwide, from the Philharmonie de Paris to Leipzig’s Gewandhaus, from the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg to London’s Wigmore Hall, at which they are artists-in-residence.

Over the past 30 years, Quatuor Danel’s fresh vision on the traditional quartet repertoire has earned them rave reviews from the public and the press, and they are renowned for their ground-breaking, multi-award-winning discography – namely, their deeply personal interpretations in the string quartet cycles of Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Shostakovich and Weinberg.

This celebrated French string quartet, comprised of Marc Danel, Gilles Millet, Vlad Bogdanas and Yovan Markovitch, will make its Cyprus debut this month performing works by Beethoven, Debussy and Shostakovich.
