The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has announced the results of the certification examinations conducted in April 2025, in accordance with the Directive on the Certification of Persons and the Certification Registers.
The official results include the full name of each successful candidate, the examination taken, and their certification number.
Successful candidates are reminded to use their certification number in all correspondence with CySEC regarding certification-related matters.
The list of successful candidates and corresponding results can be accessed through the CySEC website.
Candidates who will be registered for the first time in either the public register or the AML compliance officers register must complete the registration form available on the CySEC website.
This form must be submitted in Excel format via email to [email protected] within four weeks from the date they receive CySEC’s notification email.
CySEC also reminded candidates of the ESMA guidelines on the assessment of knowledge and competence, published in January 2017.
These guidelines outline the knowledge and competence requirements that must be met by individuals engaged in the provision or performance of investment services or activities, beyond their inclusion in the Public Register.
CySEC further highlighted the obligation of certified individuals to renew their registration annually, in accordance with Paragraphs 17(1) and 17(2) of the Directive.
Registered persons must complete their renewal within two months following the end of each calendar year.
To renew their registration, individuals must submit a statement confirming that they have completed continued professional training in topics related to their certification and duties.
The required training duration is ten hours for those registered for the basic examination, fifteen hours for the advanced examination, and ten hours for AML compliance officers, covering the previous year.
However, individuals registering for the first time during the previous year are exempt from the training requirement for that year’s renewal.
Additionally, registered persons must pay an annual renewal fee of eighty euro.
The renewal process is exclusively conducted online and must be completed within the first two months of each calendar year.
For any enquiries or clarifications regarding the certification process or renewal requirements, individuals are advised to contact CySEC at [email protected].
