The risk of wildfires in Cyprus is extremely high, the fire service warned on Sunday, urging the public to stay alert and act responsibly.
Speaking through a post on the social media platform X, fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis highlighted the danger, linking it directly to the unusually high temperatures affecting the island.
Kettis called on citizens to be vigilant and assist in both preventing fires and reporting them early.
He reminded the public that any signs of smoke or fire should be reported immediately by dialling 112 or the fire service’s hotline at 1407.
Authorities continue to monitor weather conditions, with warnings expected to remain in place as heat levels persist across the country.
