Two vehicles, one in Dherynia and one in Protaras, were damaged on Thursday by two fires which broke out within half an hour of one another.
The fire brigade said it received a call at around 12.50pm regarding the fire in Protaras.
The vehicle’s owner was driving it at the time, and parked it in a supermarket car park when he noticed the fire.
It was then extinguished by employees of the Paralimni and Dherynia municipality, who were passing by in a municipality vehicle.
The vehicle’s engine compartment was damaged by the fire.
Meanwhile, at around 12.31pm the same day, the fire brigade was called to extinguish a fire in a moving vehicle in Dherynia.
The driver managed to escape unharmed, but the car suffered extensive damage.
