The working week draws to a close on Friday with early fog in inland and eastern areas, followed by increasing cloud bringing local rain and isolated storms, mainly in the west.
The weather will gradually turn mainly cloudy with local rain and isolated storms, some potentially intense with hail and strengthening winds. Meanwhile the highest peaks of Troodos may see sleet or snow.
Temperatures will reach around 18 degrees Celsius inland, as well as on the east, north and south coasts and climb up to 17 degrees in the remaining coastal areas and 8 degrees in the higher mountains.
Moderate winds will blow mainly southwesterly at up to 4 Beaufort and on the coast temporarily to strong, reaching up to 5 Beaufort. In the afternoon, winds may increase in strenght, with up to 6 Beaufort expected in the southwest. The sea will become slightly rough to rough and late in the afternoon rough in the west.
During the night, it will remain mainly cloudy with local rain and storms, with the latter likely to be intense or prolonged in the west and south. Hail is expected in a storm, while sleet or snow is expected in the higher mountains.
Temperatures will drop to around 9 degrees Celsius inland, around 10 degrees on the east coast, around 12 degrees on the rest of the coast and reach around 2 degrees in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form locally.
Winds will blow mainly southwest to west at 4 Beaufort. In the west and south, and locally along the east coast, they may be stronger, reaching up to 5 Beaufort, with very strong gusts of up to 6 Beaufort.
The sea will become slightly turbulent to turbulent in the north and east, and wavy on the rest of the coast.
Local rains and isolated storms are expected on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with hail likely in a storm and snow expected on the highest Troodos peaks.
