Bilateral co-operation with US on agenda of upcoming talks

US acting secretary of homeland security Chad Wolf will lay the foundation stone in Larnaca on Monday of the Cyprus Center for Land, Open Seas and Port Security (Cyclops), a co-operation between Cyprus and the US.

He will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Nicos Christodoulides.

On Tuesday morning, Wolf, on a two-day working visit to the island, will meet Christodoulides  and other officials at the foreign ministry.

Bilateral co-operation in a number of areas is expected to be discussed as is progress on Cyprus’ inclusion in the US visa waiver programme as well as security issues.

The two officials will sign a statement of intent between the two countries to co-operate on issues of border security.
