Coronavirus: Sunday popular day for messages to leave home

More people requested outings via SMS on Sunday than Friday and Saturday, the deputy ministry of research, innovation and digital policy announced on Monday.

While a total of 449,129 people asked for permission to leave their homes on Sunday, the number was 386,528 on Saturday and 380,261 on Friday.

On Friday, 357,178 of messages were approved, on Saturday 365,724 and on Sunday 423,868.

Most asked to visit a shop to buy essential services, especially on Saturday, when 185,840 requests were sent for this reason.

The second most popular request was for exercise – 116,235 chose this category on Sunday, 79,751 on Friday and 57,049 on Saturday.

Number 8, leaving home for any other purpose, came third, with numbers ranging from 69,950 on Friday to 80,904 on Sunday.

The least popular choice was attending a ceremony such as a funeral or wedding.
