Several mountain roads were closed on Friday due to overnight snowfall in the Troodos area, police said.

Due to the accumulation of snow, the roads between Platres and Troodos, Karvouna – Troodos and Prodromos – Troodos have been closed for all vehicles.

The roads between Kakopetria and Karvounas, Pedoulas – Pinewood – Kakopetria, Pedoulas – Kykkos, Pedoulas – Prodromos and Prodromos – Lemythou are open only for four-wheel drive vehicles or those equipped with snow chains.

No serious problems were reported in the rest of the road network on Friday morning although traffic may be affected in some areas due to road works.

On the Paphos to Limassol motorway, from the Konia roundabout to Petra tou Romiou, including the exits, road lighting maintenance works will be carried out by the department of electromechanical services. During the work, the right lane of the road will remain partially closed in both directions.

On the Nicosia to Limassol motorway, the left lane going to Limassol, between the Latsia weighing station and the exit to the industrial area will remain closed to traffic because of construction work.

Also, the right lane of the Nicosia to Limassol motorway will be partially closed at various areas due to maintenance work.
