In this video, Dr. Mark Hyman sits down with Dr. Elizabeth Boham to discuss the root causes of, and Functional Medicine approach to combating, childhood obesity.⁣

According to World Health Organisation data, 38 million children under the age of five were overweight or obese in 2019, and over 340 million children and adolescents aged 5-19 were overweight or obese in 2016.

Functional Medicine is a systems biology-based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. Each symptom or differential diagnosis may be one of many contributing to an individual’s illness.
