Man dies in Paphos traffic accident

A 58-year-old man was killed in a traffic accident in Paphos on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police, the accident took place at around 4pm on the Ayia Varvara-Natas road close to the Axylou community.

Under circumstances still being investigated, the driver seems to have lost control of the vehicle which overturned multiple times, trapping him inside.

After being rescued by firemen, he man was taken by ambulance to Paphos general hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, but said it is most likely due to the man violating traffic rules.
