Why love depends on authenticity to survive

In this video, business and life coach Tatev Petrosyan picks up the conversation on love in the aftermath of Valentine’s Day, marked annually on February 14.

So often, romantic love that endures can seem to elude us, she says, despite our genuine yearning to have its presence in our lives. Why?

Often, it comes down to believing we have to ‘perform’ an idealised version of ourselves, if we are to be accepted and able to retain the other’s affection.

This is not only unsustainable in the long run, she explains, but also denies the other person the chance to love us for who we truly are, and not who we feel we need to be.
