Cypriot sky map: rural island scenes from up above

Despite the present Covid-related travel restrictions, the beautiful natural and urban areas of Cyprus are still accessible to us through the lenses of local creators.

Sometimes, all you need is a visual reset to set troubles aside for awhile. To see fresh and lovely landscapes and view nature from a different perspective.

Here, we float past Cyprus villages and peaks, waterfalls and sanctuaries, gliding and circling, hovering and swooping, thanks to the deft drone-work of wedding photographer and videographer George Avgousti.

For an airborne lens, there are no physical boundaries or tickets to show, no Covid-travel restrictions to hold us back; simply a welcome opportunity to re-encounter the island’s fresh serenity.

Sites featured included:

  • Trozena waterfalls, bridge and abandoned village
  • Arminou Dam
  • Paphos Forest
  • Milikouri Village
  • Kykkos Monastery
  • Pedoulas Village
