Ten Syrian men arrived on Friday afternoon by boat to Protaras, police said.

The group was first spotted off Cape Greco at around 10.30am by a police patrol vessel that escorted the boat to Golden Coast fishing shelter in Protaras. They arrived at around 2.30pm.

The men, aged between 21 and 42, said they departed from Tartus, Syria on Thursday.

They are expected to be taken to the Pournara migrant reception centre in Kokkinotrimithia.
