Lockdown blues revisited: escaping the tyranny of our negative thoughts

In this video, business and life coach Tatev Petrosyan compassionately revisits the stress and mental turmoil that many of us have encountered during the Covid-19-related lockdowns.

At no other recent time have we had to confront our difficult thought processes, such as fear, unease, anxiety, in such an intense, protracted way.

But rather than continue to be oppressed by the belief that our external circumstances have the power to determine our internal reality, she explains, we can step into the truth that our thoughts – good, bad, fearful, uplifting – come and go, and with them, the feelings that seem to be caused by the outside world.

Reflecting upon and grasping this truth, frees us from the belief that our external circumstances have the power to make life stressful or serene, and ultimately liberates us from the tyranny of our negative thoughts.
