Three arrests during operation to fight organised crime

ΛΕΜΕΣΟΣ – ΛΗΣΤΕΙΑ ΥΠΑΛΛΗΛΟΥ ΕΤΑΙΡΕΙΑΣ

Three people were arrested in the Mackenzie area of Larnaca on Friday night as part of a police operation to prevent and combat serious organised crime.

A coordinated operation was carried out on Friday between 7pm and 11pm by members of Larnaca police (CID, traffic, surveillance and pandemic units) and Mmad.

During the operation, three arrests were made and nine fines issued in relation to noncompliance with coronavirus protocols, such as not wearing masks and being out without a text message.

The three arrests were of a 29-year-old from Nicosia for the possession of an offensive weapon, a 22-year-old from Larnaca for failing to pay a fine, and a 26-year-old from Limassol for illegal possession of anabolic substances.

According to the announcement, everyone else present in the area left after police showed up.

The case is being investigated by Larnaca CID.
