The Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR) is organising an online discussion and workshop this Thursday on gender and peace as part of the Ivy Series – Youth and Gender Edition, a project funded and supported by Unficyp.

The Ivy Series – Youth and Gender Edition will consist of three different events engaging youth from all communities of the island in activities to explore the concept of gender in Cyprus. The first event is the Youth, Gender and Peace online discussion and workshop which will take place this Thursday between 6.30pm and 8pm.

The workshop will begin with presentations by Hanife Aliefendioğlu and Dora Heracleous on an introduction to gender equality as an integral part of peacebuilding, and intersectionality as a tool to raise awareness on gender equality. The presentations will be followed by discussion groups which will provide a platform for participants to discuss and share opinions on the relationship between gender and peace within the context of education.

The event, held in English, is open to participants between the ages of 18 and 25 and is free to attend. A limited number of participants can join Thursday’s workshop and those interested are to fill in the registration form found on the Facebook event (Youth, Gender & Peace – Discussion and Workshop).
